East Lake is filled with a diverse population and delicious and authentic foods from all over the world. We spent a Saturday in East Lake, and we are going to share some of our favorite spots with you!
Early Bird
Get your Saturday started by getting your weekend chores out of the way! Head to Lake Merritt Wash House for a great laundromat. They offer a change machine onsite so that you don’t have to worry about getting to the bank for quarters. They have a wide range of washing machines that can handle everything from a small delicate load to all of your bedding.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day
While you wait for your clothes to wash at Lake Merritt Wash House, head down International Boulevard for a great breakfast. La Estrellita Cafe & Bar will not disappoint! The restaurant offers American staples as well as authentic Mexican breakfast. Indulge in some chilaquiles starting at 11:00 AM.
On you way home
Stop at Coin Op Car Wash to make your car feel like new again. This will make your weekend and even your Monday morning commute that much better when you have a clean and shiny ride.
Jackson’s Liquor is also down the street from the car wash. Stop in really quick to pick up any household items that you are running low on. Also pick up a snack or a drink to enjoy during your day. You can also pick up a six-pack of beer to enjoy on your Saturday night.
Dinner Plans
After a super productive day, it is time to treat yourself to a wonderful dinner with friends. East Lake offers great and authentic Vietnamese restaurants throughout the neighborhood. Some of our favorites are Da Nang Quan and Pho Mekong. Both serve delicious foods in a simple and relaxed atmosphere.
Monday Plans
If you already find yourself dreading the workday on Monday, make a plan to stop in at Best Dim Sum & Pastry. They open at 9:00 AM, so you can stop in on your way to work! Grab some buns or dumplings for yourself or even treat your coworkers to a delicious Monday surprise!
