Lonnie Lee, who is the owner and curator at Vessel, is a long-time Oakland resident and originally opened Vessel in Berkeley in 2004. Their new location in Uptown is open 12pm to 5pm Thursdays through Saturdays, and is open 5pm to 8pm on First Fridays.
Vessel Gallery offers curatorial consulting to both corporate and private collectors. Services include art acquisition, installation, exhibition design, collection management, and commissioned works. Select works are available on a rental basis. Renting art gives the collector the opportunity to make sure that the installation is a good fit before committing to it.
