Hive, The Place to Bee is a family friendly café and work space located in the Dimond District of Oakland. The business prides itself on its community-oriented and environmentally conscious practices. They are committed to using locally-sourced ingredients and partner with a variety of Oakland based businesses. The coffee and tea that they serve comes from Highwire Roasters.
Choose from a variety of coffee and espresso drinks that are crafted by Hive’s highly trained baristas. If you are someone who enjoys the subtle notes of high quality and well roasted coffee, order a perfectly extracted double shot of espresso or an americano. If you prefer milk in your coffee beverage, indulge in a silky latte, cappuccino or gibraltar. Take a moment to appreciate the intricate latte art before taking that first sip. No matter what drink you order, you can be confident that your beverage was made with love and skill.
They also have an extensive tea selection. There are 14 different loose-leaf teas to choose from. Varieties include black, green, and silver needle white tea, as well as herbal infusions and blends. Hive serves both breakfast and lunch items that can be ordered all day. They also have fresh pastries delivered daily from Starter Bakery. One of their most popular breakfast items is their breakfast sandwich, which comes with a fried egg, swiss cheese, tomato and a lemon aioli pressed in a challah bun. You can add Applewood smoked ham or bacon for an additional cost. Gluten free bread, baked by Mariposa Bakery, can also be substituted for a small fee.
Lunch items include a variety of sandwiches and salads. Most sandwiches are served with a side salad. There are several options for both vegetarians and meat eaters, and all produce is organic.
