Hasta Muerte Coffee

Hasta Muerte Coffee is a POC collectively-owned coffee shop and bookstore that aims to nurture the Fruitvale community. They offer a safe and inclusive space for residents and visitors, and they provide a place for community building and organizing.

Their mission is expressed beautifully through the thoughtful community-oriented murals that cover the front and side of the building. The inside is spacious with ample seating and plenty of outlets for charging phones and laptops. To the left of the register, you will find a kids corner with several toys to entertain your little one while you enjoy coffee with a friend or have a quick bite.

Hasta Muerte serves their own brand of coffee which they also roast. Beans include several Central and South American varieties. Espresso drinks are prepared with care, and they taste great to the last drop. 12 oz bags of retail coffee are available if you’d like to brew their beans at home. Along with well-prepared coffee drinks, you can order fresh baked pan dulces, empanadas, and other breakfast and lunch options.

The cafe is on a quiet strip of Fruitvale Avenue, between the Fruitvale and Dimond district. Parking is usually easy to find near-by, but the area is also bike and pedestrian friendly.
