Warehouse 416

Art gallery that showcases local artists and vendors. The space is also available for private events.

Warehouse 416 is a family-owned work space, art gallery, and private event space that has been an important part of the Oakland art scene since 2000.

The space includes three artist work spaces, two upstairs small business spaces, a conference room, and a spacious indoor courtyard. The exposed brick walls, sun roofs, and cement floors give the room the authentic vibe of an urban artist’s loft. The main courtyard gallery hosts artwork from resident artists, as well as outside local artists. The artwork changes monthly in conjunction with First Friday.

Since 2014 Warehouse 416 has invited guest curators to oversee the gallery. If you are an Oakland artist, and would like to exhibit your work, contact the gallery curator at info@warehouse416.com.

Visitors can check out the art work every Saturday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, as well as every Frist Friday. The gallery is open on First Friday from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and it is always a special event. The owners of the space create a fun environment with a live DJ that plays an eclectic variety of music. They always have local vendors, such as The Girl & the Rhino, who sell their goods. They also have a fully stocked bar! The bar offers refreshing cocktails, beer and wine. Proceeds from the bar go to the non-profit organization Arts for Oakland K!ds. Over the last 20 years, Arts for Oakland K!ds has funded over 145 arts programs in more than 80 Oakland schools. These programs allow children to reach their full potential as creative beings, in a time when school funding for the arts is being deemed non-essential.

The courtyard and conference room are always available for private events. People have used the space for many celebratory events including birthday parties, wedding receptions, holiday parties, and other communal events. The owners of the space are extremely responsive, and make the rental process easy. Ron and Angela are both kind and accommodating. They provide tables and chairs for your event, and the venue is always decorated with beautiful local art. For booking information, contact the owners at booking@warehouse416.com.

Warehouse 416 is located behind Gogi Time Korean BBQ on 26th Street. Parking in this area is notoriously difficult, so ride your bike, and take advantage of the bike rack, which was installed for your convenience, right in front of the building. You can also catch the Broadway Shuttle from Downtown, or walk from 19th Street BART.
