Vegan Mob

Fast-casual eatery that offers vegan versions of barbecue classics.

Located in Oakland’s historic Kwik Way Drive-In, Vegan Mob is an exciting new addition to the vegan restaurant scene in Oakland. They offer meatless renditions of Southern favorites including brisket, fried shrimp, and ribs. Craving some home-style Southern sides? You’ve got to try the Smackaroni n’ cheese, Tasha’s slaw, and collard greens. They also serve plant-based Soul Food like gumbo and po’ boys. After selling out the first day they opened, Vegan Mob has continued to be a hit with local Soul Food and BBQ lovers.

Owner and chef, Toriano Gordon aspires to create delicious and comforting meals that are also healthy. To achieve this he uses his grandmother’s recipes, substituting plant-based ingredients. The flavors and textures are so spot-on, you’ll forget that your meal is completely vegan!

Stop by Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm to see what the buzz is all about! You can also catch Vegan Mob at various pop ups around the Bay Area. Follow them on Instagram to find out where they’ll be next.
