The Laurel Cyclery Claimed

Neighborhood bike shop that carries new bikes and accessories. Also provides repair and maintenance services.

This business speaks English, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Spanish.

Established in August of 2014, The Laurel Cyclery has become an integral part of the Laurel district by being a community-oriented bike shop. They offer exceptional bike repair services, retail bikes and accessories to riders of all levels. Jason Wallach is a bike aficionado who has over two decades of experience as a bike mechanic. Prior to opening his brick and mortar shop, he offered a pop-up bike repair clinic in the Temescal neighborhood. His bicycle expertise and witty personality built him a fan base that far outgrew his informal business. Due to his immense popularity, The Laurel Cyclery was born.

The Laurel Cyclery has a well curated selection of bikes for adults and children of all ages. They also have all the necessary accessories including helmets, locks, lights, and more. Sometimes, you can even find great refurbished bikes at a fraction of the cost of buying new! You can even do some shopping on their website. Do you have a bike that needs some TLC? Bring it in to The Laurel Cyclery. Jason and his team will carefully assess and repair your bike in a timely manner.

Along with great bikes and services, The Laurel Cyclery puts great effort into giving back to the community. Some of the shops efforts include donating bikes to the non-profit community bike shop, The Bikery. They offer these bikes to Oakland youth at no cost. In addition to donating bikes, the shop has a policy that allows riders to trade in a broken helmet for a new one. This helps prevent unnecessary head injuries due to faulty helmets, while on the road. The bike shop is also known for celebrating diversity and inclusivity. No wonder it has been a “Best Bike Shop” nominee by East Bay Express two years in a row!

Drop in during normal business hours to peruse the selection of retail bike goods, to inquire about services, or to say hello to the adorable and personable shop cat, Comet. There is plenty of bike parking in front of the shop, and AC Transit lines 14 and 57 stop nearby.
