Super Juiced

Super Juiced is an organic juice bar with a social justice mission. This hip juice shop tucked inside of the historic Swan’s Marketplace is run entirely by women of color. Owners Emanne and Rana say that Super Juiced is their answer to the lack of healthy food options in Oakland.

Here you can find 100% organic freshly juiced fruit and vegetable juices, organic smoothies, healthy breakfast options, nourishing nut milks, and light organic produce offerings. Their specialties include house-made raw organic almond milk, açaí bowls, vegan chia pudding, and wellness tonic shots. In addition to various food items sourced from small Californian farms, Super Juiced also features coffee, crystals and minerals, apothecary products, and fair trade baskets in their greenhouse-like store. If you feel like one cup of juice is not enough, you can also order their customized juice cleanses with durations ranging from 1 to 5 days for an energizing or detoxifying experience.

With the support from a local network of women business owners, Emanne started Super Juiced in 2012 as a pop-up at various Bay Area events. Previously, Emanne worked as a social justice organizer and cultural worker for 20 years. But she decided to go into business after she and her partner realized that there were no dedicated organic juice bars where you could go and order a freshly pressed juice made to order in Oakland. Now in their brick-and-mortar store facing the courtyard of Swan’s Market, Emanne and Rana’s dream is to have a Super Juiced in every neighborhood in Oakland serving people delicious and healthy foods and drinks.

Super Juiced opens from 10am to 3pm Tuesdays through Fridays and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays. Street parking is available, and the 12th Street BART station is just a short walk away from the shop.
