Studio Noir

Studio Noir is a woman-owned and-operated tattoo parlor located in Old Oakland. Opening its doors in September of 2019, the studio aims to break the masculine stigma associated with traditional tattoo shops. Rather than a macho atmosphere, Studio Noir offers a softer, more relaxed atmosphere that is a safe space for everyone.

Co-owner Amy Muller has been a tattoo artists for over a decade. A Bay Area native, Amy planted her roots in Alameda at her flagship shop Pretty in Ink in 2015. Studio Noir was borne out of a need to meet client demand and to expand the presence of inclusive tattoo shops in the Bay Area. Both shops are popular among the LGBTQ community. Each artist has different specialties. Some popular art includes botanical, psychedelic, punk inspired, and queer inspired art. Of course, they offer all traditional tattoo art. One unique feature of this business is that they offer both tattooing and permanent makeup in one convenient space.
