Stork Club Oakland

Stork Club is a dive bar and live performance hall that hosts both local and national musicians and performers nearly every night of the week. There is something for everybody at this music venue.

Event types vary, and include Bluegrass Mondays, R&B Wednesdays, as well as a sensual burlesque show every First Friday. The rest of the week is filled with bands who generally play rock and roll. Genres include punk rock, metal, hardcore, and alternative rock. The Stork Club has a long history in Downtown Oakland’s nightlife scene. Known for its quirky décor, it started out as a country music bar on 12th Street. The bar has been at its current location on 24th and Telegraph since 1999, which is where they switched to a rock and roll venue.

While the scene itself has changed, the owners of Stork Club continue to offer a uniquely decorated and inexpensive place to listen to live music and enjoy cheap, no-nonsense drinks. Their special is a $5 shot and a beer. It includes a shot of the well liquor of your choice chased with a PBR tall can. They have several beers on draft, as well as a fully stocked bar.

This location offers three indoor rooms, The first room is the bar room which is decorated with several Barbie Dolls, still in their original boxes. There is a fair amount of bar seating, as well as a small amount of tables seating. You will also find a jukebox that can be played during non-performance hours. The next room is the performance stage which has standing room in front and booth seating to the rear. The hallway from the first room leads you to the pool room in the back. The pool room leads you to a dog friendly outdoor patio that is a designated smoking area.

Stork Club does not accept credit cards. If you forget to grab cash before patronizing this bar, there is an ATM inside.
