Sagrada Sacred Arts

Neighborhood spiritual store that provides goods and books that enrich your mind and soul.

Sagrada Sacred Arts is an inviting space that offers goods that cater to all spiritual beliefs and traditions. Mary and Carlo opened the store in 1994 in the Temescal Alley. At the time, Temescal Alley was nothing more than a collection of horse stables and shacks converted to studios and storage spaces. With love and support from the community, Sagrada outgrew its first home and moved up a block into its current location on Telegraph Avenue.

Sagrada is a purveyor of books and unique spiritual goods including crystals, jewelry, and meditation supplies. You can find items used to celebrate religious holidays such as Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa. You will also find lovely gifts and cards that are perfect for all occasions. Popular items available at Sagrada Sacred Arts include handmade rosaries with gemstones and Dia de Los Muertos items such as calacas, catrinas, and papel picado!

Sagrada is also an independent bookstore that is part of the Independent Book Sellers Association. Books range in subject matter and are written for both adults and children. Engage your little ones with illustrated books and activity books that help them learn about spirituality in a fun and interactive way.

Stop in during business hours to peruse the eclectic selection of spiritual goods. Strike up a conversation with the proprietors. Not only are they extremely knowledgeable about their products, they are long time Oaklanders and have amazing stories about Temescal in the old days. The store is well organized and the staff is very helpful. This makes it easy to find exactly what you are looking for. Follow them on Intagram @sagradasacredarts to see what new treasures are available in store.

Free parking can be found in the Walgreens shopping center across the street. There is also free residential parking on the side streets off of Telegraph. Several AC Transit bus lines stop on both Telegraph and 51st St, and MacArthur BART is a 15 minute walk from the shop.
