Piedmont Chiropractic is a woman-owned chiropractic office that has been in the Piedmont Avenue district of Oakland for over 30 years. Laurie Wonnell has owned the practice for the last four years. She was inspired to obtain her Doctor of Chiropractic after her own amazing rehabilitation with a female chiropractor following an automobile accident.

For the last 10 years Laurie has been treating the full spine and all extremities, making adjustments that remove pressure from nerves, which allow signals to travel more quickly throughout the body. Her patients are treated for a range of ailments including headaches, shoulder pain, temporo-mandibular joint pain (TMJ), and lower back pain during pregnancy. She also helps patients with behavior modifications that promote correct ergonomics and posture to reduce work and lifestyle pain and injury.

Everyone has a unique body that reacts uniquely to different therapies. Some of the techniques that Laurie uses include diversified, drop table, activator, acthrostim, SOT, and flexion-distraction. Along with traditional chiropractic techniques, Laurie offers state of the art therapies including electric muscle stimulation, physical therapy, and massage therapy. The massage therapist, Kimba, is in on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

All major insurances are accepted at this office, as well as workman’s compensation and automobile accident cases. Emilia is the office manager at Piedmont Chiropractic. She will kindly guide you through your insurance benefits while helping you set up your initial and follow-up appointments. Cash patients are also welcome, and the services are competitively priced. The office is conveniently located across the street from the Kaiser parking garage. Garage parking is hourly paid parking, but it is accessible to non-Kaiser visitors. There is also limited metered street and free 2 hour residential parking. The Kaiser shuttle goes from MacArthur BART to the Kaiser building on West MacArthur Blvd, which is two blocks from Piedmont Chiropractic.
