Omi Magic is an online jewelry retailer that sells stunning handmade pieces that implement a variety of inputs including shells, gems, and crystals from all over the world. The creator of these fine pieces, Bushmama, is an artist and a healer that does a lot of work around female empowerment and positive body image. She loves adornments, and her work is inspired by a cultural line of people who embrace adornments. Adornments, including body chains and waist beads, are used in her healing practices as a way to help women open up to their self-loving and sensual side. Her visual art focuses on African spirituality and includes paintings, drawing, mixed media, and doll making. Her dolls are made from denim to represent indigo’s direct connection to slavery in America. The dolls are created as an offering to the dead that help people transcend that part of history.

As a proud Oakland native, Bushmama is very connected to the community. She buys and sells import items from India, Tibet, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa. Bushmama also has established relationships with different local vendors who produce the raw materials that she uses to make her own one of a kind jewelry. She is also part of four healing collectives that offer Reiki, spiritual guidance, reflexology, and herbal medicines to inhabitants of disparaged areas.
