Monique Harris is a graphic designer that has been creating beautiful works of art for over eight years. She was born into an artistic family: Monique’s mother inspired her to create her own pieces. Her unique style tends to be a combination of abstract designs and natural elements including plants and animals. Her business is called Monique’s Creations, and it is based out of Ability Now Bay Area’s location in East Oakland.
As an African-American woman living with cerebral palsy, Monique uses a head wand to create her art. This medium allows her to independently express herself, while also supporting her and her son. View her impressive portfolio here.
Her art can be purchased as matted prints, calendars, and greeting cards, as well as throw pillows and scarves! The printed scarves are a gorgeous way to step up your fall look. They also make unique and thoughtful gifts. Along with her own creative endeavors, Monique loves working with clients to create custom designs.
When you purchase a piece of art from Monique, you are not only supporting a female-owned small business, you are also supporting causes that are dear to her heart. Monique’s Creations donates a portion of the proceeds to several organizations including Through the Looking Glass, New Bridge, and Hand-in-Hand.
To make a purchase from Monique’s Creations, you can email the business or stop by one of her tabling events. You can also visit Ability Now Bay Area at 4500 Lincoln Ave in Oakland to see a display of Monique’s impressive body of work.
