Mad Oak Bar ‘n’ Yard

Mad Oak Bar ‘n’ Yard is a fantastic brew pub and full bar with ample indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor patio is large and spacious, and the rooftop offers additional seating, as well as a smaller bar. The indoor bar offers an impressive 40 different brews on tap at a time. Beers are rotated biweekly, so it is impossible to get bored of the selection. They also offer wine and spirits.

Their friendly and talented bartenders are ready to assemble your favorite alcoholic beverages using fresh and local ingredients for optimal flavor. Try one of their signature drinks such as Phoebe Bikini, a refreshing beverage containing vodka, aperol, lemonade, cucumber, and soda.

This location is great for the after work Happy Hour crowd, as well as the weekend warrior. It is also the perfect place to grab a drink after a long day of classes at Laney College. Enjoy happy hour Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Specials include $1 off of well drinks and $1 off of pints (16 oz) beers. Trivia night is held every Tuesday, and starts promptly at 7:30 PM. Get a group of friends together and test your knowledge against an eclectic mixture of trivia lovers, and win free drinks!

Mad Oak Bar ‘n’ Yard also has a kitchen and features a rotation of local food vendors. Food vendors usually have a 6 month residency. Food is served one hour after the bar opens, and closes one hour before the bar closes, unless they run out of food.

The full bar and rooftop are available for private events Sunday through Thursday. Inquire about available dates and pricing through their website. This location is in an area notorious for a lack of parking, but don’t fear! Bike parking is ample, and Lake Merritt BART is a few blocks away.
