Geta Sushi & Bento

Geta Sushi & Bento is a very popular Japanese restaurant in the Piedmont Avenue district of Oakland. They have been serving fresh sushi at affordable prices from their small 41st St location since 2004.

At Geta, you can order a variety of raw and baked sushi items including rolls, hand rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. If you are not a fan of raw fish, you will find an assortment of Japanese favorites. Entrees include chicken or salmon teriyaki, pork or chicken katsu, vegetable or shrimp tempura, and udon or soba noodle soups. They also offer bento boxes, which give you the opportunity to sample a variety of items. You can view their menu here.

The location is small and has limited bar and table seating that can only accommodate parties of five or less. The restaurant fills up quickly, and it is not unusual to see a line out the door. If you are in a rush, it is best to order your meal to go. Take out orders can be made in person and by phone. Geta happily accepts both cash and all major credit cards other than American Express.

Geta is conveniently located next to an hourly paid parking lot. There is also metered street parking, and free residential street parking with a two-hour parking limit during regular business hours.
