From t-shirts to laundry soap, Blue & Gold is there to accommodate the neighborhood’s needs. They want to ensure that forgetting one grocery item requires no more than just a short walk.

The store has been in Oakland’s Clinton district for decades, but it was taken over by the current owner, Walid, in 2017. Walid runs a tight ship, and makes sure that the store is clean, organized, and fully stocked with goods. Their liquor selection is extensive and sizes vary from single shots to handles. Beer is kept cold and includes both local and domestic brews. Their wine aisle is also vast, providing a great selection fit for all occasions.

If you’re going fishing and stop by Phu Quy for fresh bait, make sure to also stock up on snacks and beverages next door at Blue & Gold Market. You can even grab a baseball cap and sun glasses to protect your face and eyes from the sun.

There is a designated 12-minute parking spot in front of the store. Street parking along 14th and East 18th is free, but fills up early. Walking or riding your bike are encouraged.
