The Golden Squirrel

The Golden Squirrel is a family-friendly pub and restaurant that offers an impressive selection of bites and libations including 24 craft beers on tap, a full bar, and locally inspired pub food.

Cousins Andrew Snow and Chris Foott opened the business in 2017. They are both from the Rockridge neighborhood and wanted to open a pub in the area. The restaurant’s aesthetic is consistent with the local pub vibe. There is a tabled dining area where families can share a meal, as well as a full bar with televisions to watch sports with other local fans. Above the bar, you will find a constantly expanding collection of quirky decor and knick-knacks. In addition to the indoor bar and restaurant seating, there is outdoor patio seating as well. The restaurant is dog friendly, so don’t hesitate to bring your four-legged friend out while you enjoy a drink and burger on the patio.

The Golden Squirrel has a full lunch and dinner menu that includes options for vegetarians and vegans. Most items can also be made gluten free. The Golden Squirrel is in the extremely walkable Rockridge district. While you can find metered street and residential parking nearby, it is easy to get to the restaurant from Rockridge BART, as well as from the 51A AC Transit line. There is also a Ford Go bike station next to the restaurant.
