Galleria Scola is a framing gallery that has been part of the Grand Lake neighborhood since 1983. It is a woman-owned-run and-operated business that specializes in mid-to-high-end custom framing. This full-service frame shop offers in-home evaluation, pick-up, delivery, and installation. They even clean paintings!
Owner, Elida Scola, and her assistant, Lisa, have a combined 80 years of framing experience. Elida transitioned from a career in LGBTQ policy advocacy to framing in 1980. Over the years she has taught courses on framing and written for Picture Framing Magazine. In fact, she continues to teach at the annual framers’ conference, WCAF.
Her artistic eye has made her the go-to framer for restorations and reproductions. She is also an expert in matching the time period of a frame to the time period of the artwork. Her approach to framing is very comprehensive. She will assess your needs, offer suggestions, and work meticulously to produce exactly what you want.
Do you have memorabilia that you want to preserve? Have it placed in a 3D shadow box! Did you find a damaged antique frame that you love? Bring it in to discuss the best restoration method. Elida loves sharing her framing knowledge, but she is so much more than an excellent framer.
Elida is a very active member of the community. She is connected to several organizations that her clients support and donates her services to a number of great causes. She is also extremely personable and neighborly. Whether you need some change to feed the meter or a suggestion for a great lunch spot in the area, Elida is always happy to lend a helping hand.
Call or stop by today to discuss how to accentuate your art with the perfect frame. They are open Tuesday through Saturday or by appointment.
