Showin’ Out Hair Gallery is a professional hair salon and boutique that has been a part of the Laurel District since 1992.

Tillie is the owner of Showin’ Out. She is an Oakland native who dreamed of owning a hair salon and boutique since she was a little girl. As a teenager, she completed cosmetology coursework at Laney College while simultaneously working towards her high school diploma. Tillie is an active member of the community. She takes part in the Laurel Street Festival and collaborates with the Alameda County Food Bank every year. She also helps Oakland youth learn about what it takes to own a business. Tillie hires high school students to work in her boutique, teaching them, merchandising, sales, and inventory tracking. She has also trained many stylists who have been an important part of the Showin’ Out family for several years.

The salon does not have set hours. Walk ins are always welcome, but it is best to make an appointment to guarantee that a stylist is available to serve you. There is metered parking along MacArthur Blvd, as well as 2-hour free parking on the side streets.
