Ole Ole Burrito Express is a beloved multi-location fast-casual Mexican food eatery located in Oakland. They have three locations throughout the city. The Telegraph Avenue location simply goes by the name Burrito Express, and it is located in the heart of the KONO District.
Burrito Express offers a large, well-lit dining area, and it is always a great choice for a quick lunch, dinner, or late night meal. Here, you will find all of your favorite items. Items include burritos, cantina style and crunchy tacos, tortas, nachos, and carne asada fries. Meat choices include grilled or boiled chicken, al pastor, carne asada, chile verde pork, shrimp, and fried fish. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available!
You can order your items regular, which includes the standard ingredients, or super, which adds avocado and sour cream to your regular item. Refreshing agua frescas and horchata are available in two sizes, 16oz and 24oz, along with many bottled and canned beverages. They also have an awesome salsa bar. Anything you need to garnish your meal to perfection is waiting for you, including 6 choices of salsa, pickled jalapenos, cilantro, and lime wedges.
Make your order at the register at the far end of the preparation table to the right of the entrance. Once you have completed your order, you will be assigned a number, which will be displayed on your receipt. Your food is assembled in plain view. Watch as your prep cook uses fluid motions to expertly assemble your burrito. It is amazing how fast they move!
Once your order is completed, the prep cook or counter person will call out your number. You can order your meal dine-in or take out. If you choose to dine in, there is a television that plays local sports games or Spanish speaking shows. Take-out orders can be called in ahead of time if you are in a hurry.
