Won Kee Supermarket

Chinese grocery market carrying seafood, meats, produce, and snacks. Parking lot available.

Located at 223 8th Street, Won Kee Supermarket is one of the bigger and more organized grocery stores you can find in Chinatown, but its prices are just as affordable as its smaller counterparts’. Bigger space means bigger selections of groceries, including fresh meats, produce, seafood, as well as frozen and dried foods, and hard-to-find Asian snacks and beverages.

Won Kee carries almost every spice, sauce, herb, and condiment you could think of, such as soy sauce, oyster sauce, and Sichuan peppercorns. If you’re not in the mood for cooking, you can always head to Won Kee’s deli counter and pick up some Cantonese barbecue meats like Char Siu and roasted duck.

Won Kee Supermarket is located next to the 7th St. at Jackson St. AC Transit stop, and Lake Merritt BART station is just two blocks away. Parking spaces are available at its 8th Street entrance, and the market is also accessible through 216 7th Street.
