Temescal Alley Barbershop

Popular barbershop in Temescal Alley that gives a great haircut and straight razor shave.

Temescal Alley Barber Shop is an extremely popular and laid-back place to get a fresh haircut and a clean shave in Oakland’s Temescal district. They offer classic barbershop services to men, women, and children. Their timeless little shop is inside of the Temescal Alley off of Telegraph Avenue and 49th Street. This throwback barbershop exudes an old school neighborhood feel. Follow them on Instagram @temescalbarbers to catch a glimpse of an average day at the shop.

The talented team at Temescal Alley Barber Shop is highly trained. They can provide you with a classic look such as the gentleman’s haircut or a fade, as well as new and eye-catching barber styles. Professional razor shaving services and beard trimming are also available. Haircuts are reasonably priced at $30, but Seniors and First Responders are invited to receive a haircut for $25.

Service is first come first serve and is organized by a sign in sheet at the entrance of the building. Weekends get busy, so make sure to come in early if you are in a hurry. It is also a cash only business, so stop at the bank before patronizing this barber shop. While you wait for your appointment, peruse the cool boutiques inside the Temescal Alley, or grab a cup of delicious locally roasted coffee next door.

Parking in the neighborhood can be difficult, but metered street parking is provided along Telegraph Avenue. There is also a free parking lot inside of the Walgreens shopping center across the street, as well as 2-hour residential parking. Take advantage of nice days and walk or ride your bike. MacArthur BART is a 15-minute walk away from Temescal Alley, and there are several AC Transit routes that stop nearby.
