Romo’s Caffe

Family-operated cafe that offers fresh food in an inviting atmosphere.

For a great cup of coffee and a fresh bite to eat while visiting the Fairfax Business district, look no further than Romo’s Caffe. Laura is the owner of the cafe. She has over 15 years of experience working in restaurants and coffee shops throughout Oakland. She is dedicated to providing tasty food to the community.  She is also dedicated to supporting local food vendors, purchasing several of her ingredients from independent businesses.

This family-owned labor of love started out as a food stand at the Laney College Flea Market in 2012, where it still operates. They built up a great reputation, and people regularly stopped by for their amazing fare.

In the Summer of 2018, the family opened their brick and mortar cafe. They provide the neighborhood with fresh breakfast and lunch items, fulfilling the need for healthy options when dining out. The facility was built out by the family, so everything from the floors to the walls has a personal touch.

The inside has seating on the ground floor, as well as in the upstairs mezzanine. Bring a book and nestle up in the quiet mezzanine while you enjoy some Semi Freddie’s pastries or their signature chia seed pudding. They also have limited outdoor seating, which is great for grabbing a light lunch and chatting with a friend. Some popular lunch items include their El Tren and Chicken Chipotle sandwich. They also have several salads.

Whether you’re visiting the neighborhood for auto repairs at Bancroft Automotive or getting your hair done at one of the neighborhoods many wonderful salons, take a moment to stop at Ramo’s Caffe. Your taste buds will thank you.

This business speaks English and Spanish.
