Imperial Soup

Chinese restaurant that serves several steamed dishes and medicinal soups.

This business speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.

Established for a little over a year, Imperial Soup has been featured on various Bay Area media, including a notable article in the East Bay Express, for their famous Chinese herbal and medicinal soups. Every one of their soups takes at least 4 hours to boil before it is served to the customer, and they claim that there are immense health benefits from slow cooking herbs and other ingredients in their soups. Their menu is split into different sections detailing each soup’s health benefits, including kidney nourishment, body detoxing, and more.

Imperial Soup does not just serve soups; they also offer a variety of rice/noodle dishes, desserts, and drinks. Try their double layer steamed milk, served piping hot. It’s a creamy and sweet dessert made with simple ingredients such as egg and milk, yet it tastes amazing!

Imperial Soup is located in Oakland’s Chinatown. There is ample seating in both the downstairs and upstairs space, as well as a bathroom for customers. Metered street parking and paid garage parking can be found close by. The restaurant is also a short walk from the 12th St. BART station. They accept both cash and credit, but there is a minimum $25 credit card charge for orders.
